Jill Furmanovsky recalls, "I was a little afraid of Sid and kept my distance when I saw him in clubs etc. Nevertheless I was brave enough to snatch this image of him and Nancy in the dressing room after a Ramones gig that took place on New Years' Eve, hence the bottle of champagne in Nancy's hand. In the murky background is Linda Stein who was married to Seymour Stein of Sire Records, and Dee Dee Ramone listening intently to Sid. None of those mentioned are alive now."

Jill Furmanovsky recalls, "this portrait was taken after a show in the legendary folk club, Bungees, by the light of a single bulb, on a Leica M3. It was the first time I had seen Jeff play and I was gob-smacked. The sheer musicality, virtuosity and soulfulness of this divine young man brought tears to my eyes. The tulip was one of a bunch given to him by an appreciative fan."

Mat Snow, MOJO Magazine describes "Was there ever a better shot of Chic than this one taken at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1979? Rodgers and Edwards lock into that rarified near-trance only to be achieved through prolonged exposure to Blue Note records - yet all four members cannot help but groove to the same beat. Which doesn't begin to do justice to the descriptive resonance of the photograph: this is a picture you can hear."

Jill Furmanovsky recalls, "One of my favourite ever gigs was Chic at Hammersmith Odeon in 1979. From the start everyone was on their feet dancing". Rock’s Backpages founder, Barney Hoskyns was there too. He says in his review “The show totally swept me off my feet and transported me to a place of heavenly ecstasy.” 

It is also Nile Rogers’ favourite live picture of the band. To him the image is an affirmation to himself “Nile, you worked so hard to bring this music to the people –- job well done!”
